THE FULL POWER OF HYDROGEN
The GreenGT H2 is a race concept car which uses one of the most attractive propulsion solutions for the individual automobile, transports, industrial activity and tomorrow’s motor races, the electric-hydrogen generator.
The electric-hydrogen generator, also called the fuel cell, is in the current state of scientific knowledge, the most eco-responsible solution for producing electricity because no fossil energy and no rare minerals are used to produce or stock the electricity and no polluting emissions are released into the atmosphere. The electric-hydrogen generator rejects only water vapour.
The GreenGT H2 has been designed and developed as a technological showcase by GreenGT, an engineering laboratory specialised in high-power electric propulsion solutions for industry and transport.
The GreenGT H2 is the first electric-hydrogen competition prototype in the world. It was born when the engineers in the company developed the GreenGT 300kw, an electric prototype designed for racing powered by lithium-ion batteries only.
As their autonomy needed to be improved GreenGT decided to revert to a 100 kW hydrogen fuel cell, which enabled the necessary additional energy to be supplied to the electric engines. Based on this work the production of a new chassis and a new, more powerful, more compact fuel cell (340Kw, some 460 bhp) was launched by GREEN GT in 2012.
In parallel, a new, light twin-engined power train with a power output of 400 kW (540 bhp) was developed for this prototype named H2.
The GreenGT H2 is the technological demonstrator and showcase of the technical know-how for the race track of high-power electric-hydrogen solutions, which the GreenGT teams are developing for their clients, in particular the transport and handling industries, the car manufacturers, and in general all the sectors that want to bring concrete, safe, reliable and efficient solutions to a problem that is of the highest importance, namely: the reconciliation of transport, mobility and sustainable development.
